The 2021 BPCIS Retreat

What happens when 48 BP pastors and leaders gather?

“Do not quarrel on the way,” said Joseph to his brothers as they returned to Canaan to bring their father Jacob to see his long-lost son. That little detail in Genesis 45.24 provided a starting point to Dr Robert Solomon’s* talks as he addressed 48 BP pastors and leaders at BPCIS annual retreat, held in-person at Mount Carmel BP Church on 5 July 2021.

Dr Solomon reminded us of Jesus’ high priestly prayer for us, “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us… that they be one even as we are one….” (John 17.21-22). Expounding Scriptures on the unity in the Trinity, he pointed us “towards a spirituality of sharing” in line with this year’s theme, “Sharing Resources”.

*Dr Solomon was the bishop of the Methodist Church of Singapore from 2000 to 2012. He now has an active ministry of preaching, teaching and writing.
